Situated on the banks of the Richmond River is this 35.4 Ha (87 acre) established stone and citrus fruit orchard.

The property contains a four-bedroom brick and tile home. The current owner has renovated the home including new kitchen, bathroom and ensuite. The land has been developed into a significantly sized orchard with all necessary irrigation infrastructure. Completed within the last three years the irrigation system consists of three main 90mm lines with 19mm pipes running to each tree with a spray nozzle. (See photo) The 177mega litre irrigation licence operates from the adjacent Richmond River and a high pressure electric pump supplies the irrigation system.

The soil is an alluvial loam type soil and currently contains approximately 1000 Pomelo trees and 1500 Guava trees. There is sufficient room for the expansion of the orchard with the ability for another 10,000 plus trees to be planted on the property. Irrigation systems have already been installed to accommodate the additional trees.

Towards the southern boundary of the property there is a machinery shed and a pump shed with a filtration unit. On the southern boundary there is approximately 560m of direct river frontage.

The current harvest is expected to return between $150k to $200k per season and with further expansion of the orchard the gross yield could be increased significantly. The fruit of both trees are achieving a market price between $7 and $10 per kilogram.

With the owner downsizing, this is a great opportunity to invest into the horticulture industry and with room for expansion and the demand for fresh fruit always increasing, unknown possibilities exist.
