The Main House

The main house was built in 1999 using re-purposed convict-hewn sandstone, which still bears the original markings when first quarried from Saunders Quarry, Pyrmont around 1880.

The sandstone is the highest grade and highly prized for its clarity, density and colour. The sandstones first life was the kitchen of the old Sydney Hospital (Macquarie Street) in 1881 before it was demolished in 1984 to make way for Parliament House extensions. The home has been built featuring authentic recycled building materials sourced statewide such as floors, doors, furniture and a staircase.

Today the home offers a separate owner's living level plus five luxury suites, all with ensuites and doors opening onto the wide verandah. There is also a chef's kitchen, under-house cellar, double sided fireplace and combined lounge and dining room.

'Capers' Guest Cottage
